The Business Roundtable, a lobbying group composed of the nation’s leading CEOs, announced that its members “share a fundamental commitment to all of our stakeholders”. Redefining the purpose of a corporation from maximizing shareholder profits to leading a corporation to benefit all stakeholders, i.e. customers, suppliers, employees, communities and shareholders, is a major paradigm shift.
