Introducing: The Value Reporting Foundation
Sustainability standards are converging. On June 9th, two well-known, voluntary sustainability reporting standards, The International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) officially announced their merger to form the Value Reporting Foundation.
The merger makes a lot of sense: the two reporting frameworks are complementary in nature and are already in use, side-by-side, at many companies. The Integrated Reporting framework sets out the structure and the type of content that need to be reported on; the SASB standards provide more detail on industry specific topics and metrics for us in an integrated report.
